30 before 30- #23 Newcastle

You will always find at least one of these in my family’s refrigerator. This has been true for as long as I can remember. Grandma and Grandpa did love to split a Newcastle. It was time to finally try one.

One of the things I have come to the conclusion in the last couple years is that I just do not like alcohol. Some mixed drinks are fun, but it’s because I can hardly taste the alcohol and I never finish one so I always end up thinking why did I spend money on this when I could have gotten a coke. Newcastle I would categorize as one of the less offensive tasting drinks I have tried, but still not a fan.

I’m just not a big alcohol drinker either. I think it can be nice with a glass of wine once in awhile but it’s so expensive I don’t really see the big appeal.

I love that your grandparents had a cocktail hour together. That is truly special. I don’t particularly enjoy alcohol unless it’s mixed as well, and then it’s a game of justifying the novelty with the price. Usually, I’d rather get an appetizer or something instead.

I might just need to try a sip of newcastle and see if I find it less offensive too! Haha. I’m not keen on beer. The only one I can bear for more than a few sips is Fat Tire.
