Life and Then Some
So much life has happened in the last month. So much so, I will be breaking it up into a few posts because I took alot of pictures, and you know I like to share pictures. What started as a trip to see my friends, going to a dear friend’s wedding, going to San Franscisco and Monterey Bay Aquarium, ended up with all of those things happening, but also my grandpa passing away.
(Check out these white peacocks. This was from the wedding venue)
I got the first text that my grandpa had been airlifted to the hospital while I was about to walk into the restaurant for rehearsal dinner on a Thursday. Such a swirl of emotions, and gratefulness. The gratefulness lasted through my grandpa’s passing the following Wednesday. I am grateful to the Lord that I got to be with those friends, they are my second family.
The wedding was a whirlwind of craziness, stress, did-that-really-just-happen moments…and then the ceremony and reception itself went beautifully. As I’ve been in/involved in a few weddings now, that seems to be the pattern. The next morning after the wedding Laura and I left for San Francisco.
It’s hard to go on with life when you know your life may change at any moment. My grandpa was too far away for me to be there, and I knew he was surrounded by family, and my aunt was doing an amazing job keeping me updated.
The view from hotel. The fog was thick the evening we got there, and we decided to wait until morning to start adventuring.
I know it’s just a bridge, but I think the Golden Gate Bridge is such a cool sight. The fog had lifted enough that it was chilly but it didn’t hinder our view at all.
Looking out at Alcatraz, where we would be heading next.
Time constraints prevented us from walking all the way across the bridge, but we did walk part of the way.
The first part of the bridge was fenced off like in the previous picture, but right before it opened up there was this sign. There is always hope…even when it feels like life has choked it away forever.
The view from the bridge.

All the pics you’ve put up from the trip are stunning! I’m enjoying the reliving of our wanderings. 🙂 Also, thank you for being there for me and helping make the wedding a success. We truly couldn’t have done it without you. <3
