Book Review- No Greater Gift
My reaction to finishing this book was similar to when you see an excellent live performance and you stand and quietly applause. You know you just saw an exceptional display of talent and were fortunate to have this experience. Grace Ryan is recently divorced and returning to her hometown to go through her grandmother’s journals. As her beloved grandmother passes away, she begs Grace to find out the truth about a decades old secret. And with this, bestows upon her an inheritance which fractures her already tenuous family relationships. Book Review- The Tethered World
Ah this book made me smile. The story telling is seeped in my favorite things. Narnia references throughout, nuanced characters, an exciting new world to explore, The Tethered World took me a while to get through because I was enjoying myself and didn’t want to rush. Sadie Larcen is one of five siblings, the oldest in a homeschooling family. Her family is the best representation I have ever seen in fiction of a homeschooling family. One of my favorite places to go as a child was Universal Studios in Hollywood. It’s still a favorite now, but it was especially exciting when I was little. I loved the tram tour and the Back to the Future ride. I would do 2 days worth of homework in advance so I could go with dad when company was in town. Or go whenever I had the chance. Source: Empire Online I promised myself when I started this project I would not stress out about it. I have a tendency to be a bit obsessive when I’m goal oriented…and I refused to let 30 before 30 become anything but an enjoyable challenge.
